Workshop 1 - Dea Fischer – Printing
Saturday Morning 10 -12.00 - Civic Centre Classroom
“Experience an introduction to simple print-making techniques, including collagraph, monoprinting and linocut. Participants will need to preregister for this workshop, and are encouraged to bring objects that can be secured to a backing board for collagraph printing”
2hr workshop for ages 12 and up (preregistration required 15 persons max)
Workshop 2 – Suzanne Johnston – Glass Mosaics
Saturday afternoon 1.00 – 3.00 – Civic Centre Classroom
A basic introduction to contemporary glass mosaics. Workshop will entail a 6″ piece of wall art designed by each student. Instruction on proper use of tools, cutting and shaping, adhesives, and various lay patterns for tesserae (glass tile). All materials and tools will be provided.
2hr workshop for ages 10 and up (preregistration required 10 persons max)
Workshop 3 – Edward Van Vliet – All kinds of weather – mixed media
Saturday afternoon 1 – 3.00 – Civic Centre Atrium
Create a visual collage combining landscapes and skyscapes using a variety of materials including pastels, paint and collage. Participants will work from projected images and crate a kaleidoscopic work of art representing the many faces of nature. Varying the scale, style and placement of these projected images will result in a beautiful patchwork piece of art.
Open all ages – drop ins welcome
Workshop 4 – Tessa Mendoza – Papermaking
Sunday morning 10 – 12.00 pm – Civic Centre Classroom
Learn techniques to recycle used office paper into beautiful new sheets that can be used for card making, scrapbooking, wrapping paper, book making etc. We’ll add colour, character and texture to the pulp using decorative items such as thread, fabric scraps, twine, confetti, plant fibres, sparkles and more. Participants can bring some of these items from home to personalise the sheets that they will make.
2hr workshop for all ages (max 15 person) preregistration required
Workshop 5 – Donna Jo Massie – Watercolour
Sunday afternoon two workshops 1.00 – 2.00 pm and 2.00 - 3.00

“One Hour Watercolour” — Painting a Small Landscape — Adult, Beginners
Now tell the truth, have you always wanted to pick up a brush and push some paint around on paper? This is your chance — complete a small watercolour painting as the instructor shows you step-by-step. Bring your enthusiasm and be prepared for a fun learning experience.
1 hr workshop adult only preregistration required
